MIM #199 - Stars

I love this week's Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink. Betsy gave us such a pretty inspiration card, and while the "let's party" die is on my wish list, I haven't got it yet so, although I wanted to stay pretty close to her idea, I had to use some other dies.
The frame and stars are from the "shakers and sprinkles" set, while the sentiment is from "star prints".
I stamped the sentiment in black before clear embossing the "star" over the top. Then I used ocean tides and aqua mist inks on a sponge, and finally added a few of the stars using white pigment ink.
The frame is 3 layers of card to make it stand slightly proud of the inner rectangle.

PTI January blog hop - #5

One last "left overs" card for the January blog hop at Papertrey Ink.
The speckled card base was part of the sheet I'd used to mask my desk when I was flicking stain from a paint brush for an earlier card and looked too good to just put in the trash. The hearts were left over when I die cut "love" from the wonderful words collection. The sentiment is from "Embroidered blooms" and I threw in a few enamel dots to add a little shine.

PTI January blog hop - #4

One more card for this month's blog hop at Papertrey Ink.
I used one of the heart dies from Shakers and Sprinkles to create a heart shaped mask which I stuck to the page with a little washi tape. Then I stamped various sentiments from Wonderful words: Love using sweet blush, Hibiscus burst and scarlet jewel inks, and a little heart from the "sweet baby" set. Then I used sweet blush ink and a foam pad to add colour across the heart and finally used a paint brush and distress stains in Worn lipstick and festive berries to create some very small splatters. Then I removed the mask.
I die cut "love" 3 times from red card and stacked them up on top of each other (I love the Zig glue pen for this).

PTI January blog hop - #3

Another card for this month's blog hop at Papertrey ink.
I used the die from Framed out #11 to cut a large heart in the first map, showing a second map underneath. I cut a tiny heart using the smallest of the heart prints dies from foam, add added glossy accents for some shine,
There is a repeating "happy anniversary" sentiment underneath the strip at the bottom, from the "get lost" stamp set.

PTI January blog hop - #2

A second card for the blog hop today at Papertrey ink.
I wanted to have a go at the style Maile showcased on last weeks design tips, and used the "love" sentiment from Think Big favorites #23, stamped in scarlet jewel, to cut apart. The sentiment in the space is from Wonderful words: love.

PTI January Blog Hop - #1

With Valentines and 2 wedding anniversaries in January (including my own) I have the need for a number of heart based cards, so this months subject for the Papertrey Ink blog hop is perfect.
This first card uses one of the dies from the "Shakers and Sprinkles" Make it Market kit to create a background, together with the Wonderful words: love die and stamps.

MIM #197 - lovely layers

I decided I wanted to have another go at this weeks challenge at Papertrey Ink but go at it from a very different angle.
Like most paper crafters I love, and have far too much, patterned paper, but I very rarely use it. So for this card I used 5 or 6 different pages from Crate Paper's "Party Day" pad.

I cut the two large shapes from lovely layers in foam and paper, but by the time it was assembled it was just too bulky so I went back and made the bottom layer just paper and left the top layer on foam. As I had the foam out I cut the biggest of the circle scribbles out of foam. I had planned to stick paper on top but it fought back too hard so I left it well alone!
The sentiment is from Birthday Tags 2012 and the "celebrate" on the file tab if from Monthly moments - tabbed.

MIM #197 - foam stickers

I knew it had been a while since I'd had any time to sit down and get inky, and my last blog entry was back in November, so it was a joy to have the time to play along with this weeks Make it Mionday challenge at Papertrey Ink.
The challenge was to make foam stickers. I had some single sided sticky back foam left over from the school craft club, so I only had to glue the stamped image onto the foam base.
I like how the background paper turned out - I used the lemon slice from Tea for Two additions and Tropical teal ink to stamp around the page.
