MIM #274

I love patterned paper (I bought 9 packs in the anniversary sale) but I'm really miserly with using it. This weeks challenge at papertrey ink gave me cold sweats - cut into 3 or 4 different sheets?!?!
Still, having got them at such a fabulous price I manned up and made this, using PTI sweet speech dies and papers from Argyle socks and Green boutique paper pads.
I have no idea what brand the wooden accents are - my local papercrafting shop (the very excellent Papercraft Clubhouse in Westbrook, CT) has a yard sale each year and these were in a mixed bag. They give the card a nice bit of interest.

PTI January blog hop

Fun fact. White glitter won't melt, no matter how long you hit it with the heat gun. Once I'd worked out that I wasn't using embossing powder this card, for the January blog hop at Papertrey Ink,  came together pretty quickly.
This is the inspiration picture , all glossy and bold.

I wanted to use the paper clippings series to give a big hit of white embossing, and this set worked just great.
I added some extra lines of blue onto the black and white patterned paper  to tie the colours together.

MIM #273 - spinner cards

A card for this weeks Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink.
I die cut a few different sized hearts (from the hearts die set, heart framed out die and heart from the tremendous tags set) and stuck card of different colours in the space. Next time I would probably use thinner, patterned paper as the card is distorting the top layer when I sandwiched the card fronts together.
The central hole is cut with the framed out die, and the spinner element is the largest of the heart set, so it nearly fits but leaves enough clearance to be able to spin. The sentiment on the heart is from fillable frames #10.

MIM #272 - Masked heart wreaths

A very simple card for this weeks' Make it Monday at Papertrey ink.
I used the die from Framed out #11 as my mask, and then used a pencil eraser to add little dots of Pure poppy, Hibiscus burst, Berry Sorbet and Lovely lady inks. I added stitching lines with a red gel pen to define the borders.
The sentiment is from the PTI keep it simple series.

MIM #271 - 2016 review

As I looked back through the review of last years Make it Mondays I was really surprised by how many I thought I'd entered compared to how many I actually did. I'd even started cards for a number of them! Resolution for this year - finish a few more projects!
I had the rubber cement all ready to go, having bought it for the original challenge so I thought I really ought to try out this technique first.
